Arsenal may walk away from Zubímendi deal

Arsenal may walk away from the deal to sign Martin Zubímendi from Real Soeciedad.

Last week reports emerged that all the paperwork to complete the purchase of the 26-year old had been completed, and that all that was outstanding was his medical.

However, Zubímendi himself has cast doubts on that whilst with international duty with Spain. He has indicated that he does not know where his future lies, and that he has a number of options on the table.

Given his history of backing out of deals – he was on the verge of signing for Liverpool last summer before changing his mind – there are fears that he could be about to do the same this time, with suggestions he is holding out for Real Madrid to make him an offer.

Mikel Arteta has previously said that if he needs to convince any player to join Arsenal, then that is not a good start, and means they are unlikely to settle at the Emirates.

He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
