Leeds United and Arsenal players are options for club to sign–Decisions being made

Lazio have signed Nuno Tavares permanently from Arsenal and a replacement for the Portuguese defender could come from the Emirates or Leeds United.

Corriere dello Sport have reported that Tavares can depart the Roman club quickly in the summer and an offer from Al Hilal has already been rejected. Lazio’s intention has been to sign the player permanently and sell him on, earn a profit, and then replace him in an efficient way.

There is an expectation the Saudi Arabian club will make a new offer and the next 48 hours can be crucial to the full-back’s future.

As a result, Lazio are looking for replacements. One player of interest is Leeds United’s Junior Firpo. New manager Maurizio Sarri is also a long time admirer of Fiorentina’s Fabiano Parisi but the options do not end there.

The Biancocelesti have been offered a chance to sign Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko and while his name is rising on the shortlist, the Ukraine international’s salary demands could be a problem.

The same problem will not be presented with a move for Firpo, whose contract at Leeds United is about to expire and while that is an advantage for Lazio, Lyon have already made an offer to the versatile left-back.

Regardless of whether the Italian side move for Zinchenko or not, Arsenal will up benefiting from Tavares’ exit as they have a sell-on clause for 40% of any profit.
