David Moyes could turn to Thierno Barry to solve his problems in the final third at Everton.

The Toffees struggled for goals in the Premier League this season, with Armando Broja and Dominic Calvert-Lewin being hit by consistent injuries.

Beto picked up his form in the final weeks of the campaign, but he has already been linked with an exit after scoring eight goals.

With Calvert-Lewin’s contract also expiring in the coming weeks, Moyes certainly needs attacking reinforcements on Merseyside and could raid Villareal.

Barry top of the list for Everton

After turning things around at Goodison Park since his return earlier in the year, Moyes’ full attention is now on the summer transfer window.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

With the support of The Friedkin Group, the Scotsman is eager to refresh his side before making the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Barry has been attracting interest from the Toffees this summer after a solid season with Villarreal.

At 22-years-old, the forward certainly fits the brief of what the boss wants at Everton, with younger players needed in the squad.

Spanish newspaper AS has reported in its print edition (9 June, page 18) that Barry is now the top transfer priority for Everton this summer.

Villareal are not too panicked just yet, with a £33.6million clause on their forward that the Toffees would be expected to meet.

The Yellows are also hoping that the prospect of Champions League football in Spain could be enough to make him stay put.

Everton need a striker

There is no doubt that the final third has to be a key point of focus for Moyes during the summer transfer window, with a striker certainly needed.

Barry could be an attractive option, especially when you consider his age, but it may be a stretch when it comes to Everton’s priority.

Barry’s form this season.

The 22-year-old has a big release clause on his head, and while he had a good season, whether 11 goals is enough to justify that is questionable.

The summer window has only just got underway, so it would not be a surprise to see Moyes considering the different options that are available before making a final decision about whether Barry is his man.
