Bournemouth have been linked with a move for Bologna’s Jhon Lucumi over the last few days.
While the Cherries made an initial bid for the Colombian, it was later reported in Italy that a higher offer would be needed to lure the centre-back. More has emerged about Lucumi’s future at the Rossoblu and it will impact Bournemouth’s move for the defender.
Corriere dello Sport report Bologna only want to sell one of Sam Beukema or Lucumi in the summer window.
As it stands, it’s likelier Dutchman will depart and that is why the Italian club are trying to keep the Colombian international beyond the summer.
The newspaper state Bournemouth might have to trigger the 26-year-old’s release clause if they want to land him, with Roma also interested in the situation.
The amount of the clause stands at €28m and if that is triggered, it would cause difficulty for Bologna. They decided against signing a first-choice centre-back last summer and that decision can leave them stranded, if both Lucumi and Beukema depart.
