Manchester United are set to come up against local rivals Manchester City in their pursuit of a goalkeeper to replace Andre Onana.
The Cameroon international has failed to provide stability in between the sticks at Old Trafford with a series of problematic performances costing United significant results.
Onana led the list of Premier League goalkeepers in the stat of number of mistakes made that have resulted in a goals conceded, which naturally isn’t reassuring for Ruben Amorim.
As such, the United recruitment team are scouring Europe for reliable replacements; however, over at the Etihad, Manchester City are doing the same.
With both Ederson and Stefan Ortega entering the final year of their contracts, The Citizens are looking for a long-term replacement this summer.
Now, Get Football News France has reported that both clubs are targeting LOSC Lille shot-stopper, Lucas Chevalier.

The report explains that the Manchester sides are looking to Chevalier as the 23-year-old is seemingly set for a new challenge this summer.
Having risen through LOSC Lille’s youth academy, Chevalier has become the club’s first choice keeper, helping the French side achieve a fifth place finish this season.
The talented keeper registered 13 clean sheets in 48 games, giving him a clean sheet rate of 27% across Ligue 1 and the Champions League, helping the side qualify for next year’s Europa League.
As such, Chevalier would certainly be an upgrade on Onana, given his clean sheet rate of 22%, with 11 in 50 games, alongside his goals per game of 1.3 conceded to Chevalier’s 1.1 goals conceded.
However, United and City have strong competition, with PSG advancing their efforts to sign the talented keeper, who’s had a hefty price tag of around £60 million put on his services.
