The centre-back had been a key player in Strasbourg’s unsuccessful push for Champions League football during his one season at the club after arriving from Olympique Lyonnais last summer. Sarr made 28 appearances across all competitions under head coach Liam Rosenior, helping the club finish 7th in the league.
His assured performances attracted the attention of *Le Racing’*s sister club, and a deal was quickly agreed. Sarr will link up with his new teammates for the FIFA Club World Cup, where his current level will be assessed by Enzo Maresca.
Maresca and his team will be looking at whether Sarr can make an immediate impact for the Premier League side or if he will need more time to develop. If it is the latter, then it is expected that Sarr will return to Strasbourg, where he will look to continue his progress. GFFN | Nick Hartland
