Real Madrid may have stolen Ajax’s next breakout star
According to an early morning update from Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid has reached an agreement to sign Abdellah Ouazzine as a free agent. Formerly of Ajax, the midfielder will join Real Madrid's youth setup next month.
Due to the nature of the deal, he won't be signed immediately. However, Fabrizio Romano has applied his trademark "here we go" label to this deal, so fans can essentially rest assured that this deal is complete, and it will be finalised when it can be.
Ouazzine is still in the earliest stages of his career. In fact, many would argue that his career hasn't even begun yet. However, Real Madrid were eager to jump the gun and secure his name for the long-term future.
Abdellah Ouazzine is a Moroccan international and despite previously playing for the Netherlands at youth level, he then chose to represent Morocco at youth level instead. Recently, he was dubbed the best player at the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations after winning the youth competition, which shows the kind of future he's tipped to have.
Ouazzine is a versatile midfielder and his best position is still up in the air, which works for Real Madrid. Due to his age, he is malleable and can be shaped into any midfielder that Xabi Alonso desires in the future.
