Andrea Berta – Director of Football at Arsenal – has now seemingly made a decision on which striker to sign.
Sporting CP No.9 Viktor Gyokeres was under consideration, but TBR Football understand Arsenal are now pushing to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig – with talks advancing to the final stages.
Mikel Arteta is not satisfied with just the Slovenia international, however, as Arsenal are now set to make an offer to sign another attacker in Leroy Sane.
Arsenal to present Leroy Sane with an offer
Respected journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has now told Transfermarkt that Arsenal are expected to offer the Germany international a contract, as he prepares to leave Bayern Munich on a free transfer.
Sane is also being chased by Fenerbahce and Galatasaray – who the Turkish journalist claims have already both made offers – while Bayern Munich are also still keen to renew his contract.

Sabuncuoglu adds that “Arsenal will make an offer”- but does not state when exactly this bid for his signature will arrive.
Sane – who Tottenham also want – scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 45 appearances last season.
Arsenal could successfully fend off Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Bayern Munich thanks to Mikel Arteta
Arteta actually worked with Sane at Manchester City while assisting Pep Guardiola, before the winger eventually left to join Bayern Munich in a £44.7m move in July 2020 – coincidentally just six months after Arsenal took the Spaniard from the Etihad Stadium to replace Unai Emery.

The 29-year-old seemed to enjoy his time under the Arsenal boss, telling the Independent in July 2020: “I can (only) say positive things about Mikel Arteta. Since we started working together, he helped me a lot on the pitch.
“He tried to improve my football. He told me what I did good and what I did wrong, and he tried to work on it.”
There is an enticing amount of money on offer elsewhere – Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Bayern Munich have all proposed annual salaries worth at least €9m (£7.6m) – but Arteta could give Arsenal the edge thanks to his relationship with Sane.
