Donnarumma to Man Utd may have now edged a little closer to happening after what PSG just did, as report emerges

Manchester United faced significant issues in the goalkeeping department last season.

Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir both struggled to impress, making a number of costly errors, leaving Ruben Amorim in need of improvement in between the sticks.

TBR Football understand Amorim is even open to selling Onana this summer after his underwhelming 2024/25 campaign, with clubs in Saudi Arabia interested.

Manchester United are attempting an ambitious move to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma as contract talks with PSG stall – and an interesting development has now occurred.

PSG approach Lucas Chevalier, a sign that Gianluigi Donnarumma could now be sold

L’Equipe revealed on Sunday that Manchester United have expressed their interest in signing the Italy international this summer.

Donnarumma only has 12 months remaining on his contract in Paris, and PSG are yet to agree fresh terms.

L’Equipe even believe the European champions are close to telling their No.1 to take it or leave it, in regards to their latest offer.

Now, Le Parisien state that PSG have approached another goalkeeper in Lucas Chevalier, which strongly suggests PSG are now planning to cash in on Donnarumma this summer, rather than lose the £34m-rated Italian for free next summer.

The French news outlet add that Manchester United like the Lille No.30 as well as Donnarumma, but there is only mere interest at this stage, whereas a direct approach was made for the PSG glovesman, according to L’Equipe.

How Gianluigi Donnarumma feels about Premier League move

It would appear the 26-year-old is not bluffing about an exit from the Parc des Princes just to get a better offer from PSG.

L’Equipe add that Donnarumma – who Tottenham once tried to sign – has been speaking to his Italy teammates about what life in the Premier League is really like during the current international break, and is tempted to move to England.

Therefore, the man born in Castellammare di Stabia may well be closer to joining Manchester United than people think.
