Jens Cajuste had a good loan stint at Ipswich Town during the 2024/25 season.
The Swede returned to his parent club Napoli at the conclusion of the campaign, leaving the Italian giants to make a decision about the midfielder’s future. Ipswich Town are now trying to sign the 25-year-old permanently, according to claims from Italy.
Il Mattino, as relayed by CalcioNapoli1926, report the English club have asked for a discount.
Ipswich Town’s obligation to buy in case of survival in the Premier League was €12m and the belief is Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis is considering whether to accept a smaller fee for the player.
The Italian media appears convinced Cajuste’s time at Napoli is up, as he’d disappointed in his first season in Serie A. Their is to move the player on quickly this summer.
Cajuste made a mark at Ipswich Town, playing 30 times in the Premier League and showing that he can hold his own in England, therefore it’s no surprise Kieran McKenna’s side are looking to keep Cajuste at Portman Road beyond this season.
