Charlton Athletic and QPR are interested in signing 22-year-old Odeluga Offiah from Brighton, reports Richard Cawley.
Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones had the chance to watch Odel Offiah last season. When his CAFC side faced Blackpool, the defender put in strong performances in both meetings, something that looks to have caught the attention of Jones.
Offiah spent last season on loan at the Tangerines and could now be set to depart his parent club in search of consistent game time, with newly promoted Championship side Charlton Athletic and QPR being interested in the 22-year-old.

The Englishman has come through Brighton’s academy and made his debut for the club in an EFL Cup tie against Cardiff City in 2021. He has also made six appearances for the Seagulls in the Premier League, displaying the potential they have seen in him.
With Brighton reportedly willing to let Offiah leave on a permanent deal though, it will be the chance for the 22-year-old to further establish himself as one of the top young defenders in English football.
CAFC and the R’s look to be lurking, but there may be others keen amid Richard Cawley’s first reports.
The perfect time for Offiah to leave?
Returning to the Seagulls from his loan at Blackpool, Offiah has had his first taste as a regular starter for a club. However, with Brighton’s depth in defence, he may be forced to leave the club if he wishes to be a starter.
With his departure expected, clubs in the Championship are pushing for his signature. The Charlton Athletic and QPR target’s form at Blackpool has displayed he is ready for the step up to a higher league.

However, with the R’s still searching for a manager, perhaps the Addicks are in a better move to mount a firm pursuit at this moment in time.
Charlton Athletic’s recruitment
Nathan Jones has signed a new five-year-deal, committing his future at Charlton Athletic. With his position secured, preparations are underway for their return to the Championship.
They have already begun their business this summer, beating Derby County to the signing of Sonny Carey from Blackpool, where the winger lined-up alongside Offiah last season, scoring 11 times.

However, CAFC have lost defender Thierry Small, who has left the club on a free transfer to Preston after his contract has expired. With his departure, they may look to bring in Offiah to help improve their defensive depth.
Offiah is certainly a more defensive-minded player than Small though, with the departed talent transitioning to more of a right wing-back role last season.
