Everton have offered Seamus Coleman a new contract with the Republic of Ireland international now mulling over the deal.

Coleman has just finished a injury-plagued season, making just three Premier League starts.

The Toffees had already confirmed they wanted the former Sligo Rovers player to stay with them in some role, with the possibility that he could be a coach under David Moyes.

However, they announced this afternoon they wish to retain him as a player.

In a statement, Everton said: "The club is offering new contracts to Seamus Coleman and Idrissa Gana Gueye, while we continue to liaise with representatives of Michael Keane and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with the current deals of all four players expiring at the end of June.

"As previously confirmed, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ashley Young, Joao Virginia, Asmir Begovic, Mason Holgate and Neal Maupay will leave Everton when their current contracts expire at the end of this month, with loanees Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrøm, Orel Mangala and Armando Broja returning to their parent clubs."

The 36-year-old DOnegal native is currently injured so is not involved with Ireland for the international window.

The Blues are set to move into their new Hill Dickinson Stadium for the 2025-2026 season as a new era begins.
