Leeds United are set for a huge summer and Habib Diarra could become their first addition.

Daniel Farke is keen to reinforce his squad in an attempt to increase their survival chances after securing promotion to the Premier League.

The Elland Road outfit needs several additions if they are to have any chance of survival, with a first-choice goalkeeper, an attacker and a midfielder at the very least on the cards.

Leeds make Diarra offer as Premier League rivals circle

The Whites are interest in bolstering their engine room as the likes of Ilia Gruev and Ao Tanaka are unproven in the top-flight.

A report from L’Equipe (9 June) claims that the LS11 outfit have sent a £21.8million bid for Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra to seal their first transfer since they were promoted.

It states that the Alsatian club’s hierarchy is waiting to see how other interested teams react to the offer with several English and German clubs also keen on the 21-year-old.

Paraag Marathe and Co need to ensure that Farke is handed everything that he needs to have the best chance of survival next season.

Diarra would be a great start to their business as he would bring top-flight experience, something that the current squad in Yorkshire are sorely lacking.

The Senegal international has notched a solid number of goal contributions from midfield in Ligue 1, with four goals and five assists, something which Farke’s side will desperately need in the top tier.

It would be a great sign that the 49ers are willing to give the German what he needs if they can get a deal for the young ace over the line.
