Man City are prepared to accept loan offers for Oscar Bobb this summer to help him get back up to speed after recovering from a broken leg.

That is according to former Man United chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, exclusively told Football Insider that Pep Guardiola does not view the 21-year-old as a regular in his first-team plans.

As a result, City are planning for him to spend a season on loan at another Premier League club to assess the affects of the blow which saw him sidelined for over 200 days.

Following his shocking injury last August, Football Insider revealed that Man City have eyed replacements for Bobb, and there is now no space in their starting XI.

The Norway international made four appearances across all competitions last season in what came as a major blow to his development at the Etihad.

Now, a number of clubs are believed to have been put on alert by his availability and are weighing up whether to make a move for a short-term deal.

Oscar Bobb likely to leave Man City on loan

Brown told Football Insider on 2 June that Man City are planning for a summer overhaul of Guardiola’s squad with multiple incoming and outgoing deals planned.

The former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted Bobb is the latest star who could move away, albeit on a temporary basis.

“Man City are looking to let Oscar Bobb go on loan,” he told Football Insider.

“It would suit both them and him down to the ground, because he needs to be playing and Pep Guardiola is unlikely to use him in his first-team plans.

“After the injury he had, he has to prove to everybody that he is still capable at this level.

“He’s a very talented player, they rate him very highly, but that injury is a big concern.

“It’s difficult to come back from something like that, he has some proving to do, but he has to be playing regularly to do it.

“If you take him out of that Man City side and put him in another Premier League team, it will show where he’s at so that’s what they want to do.

“There are a few clubs who are interested in it, so we’ll see what happens.”

Newcastle eye Jack Grealish deal after Etihad exit latest

Bobb is not the only player who could be leaving Man City this summer, with Jack Grealish also being heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad.

Brown told Football Insider on 27 May that Newcastle have set their sights on Grealish as Eddie Howe believes he would be a good addition to his squad.

However, his £350,000-per-week wages are expected to be a problem with regard to their ability to finance a move away from the Etihad.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider that City would prefer to sell Grealish permanently, but may be forced to accept loan offers due to his lofty wage demands.
