Report: Former Bills, Jaguars WR Gabe Davis visiting with the Saints

The New Orleans Saints are still looking to add some juice to the wide receiver room. [Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport](https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1931883783730454575), veteran free agent wide receiver Gabe Davis is set to visit the Saints.

This visit shows that the Saints are aware that more could be done with the wide receiver room. The wide receiver room has been a point of discussion this offseason. and that didn't stop after the Brandin Cooks signing.

Though the Saints picked up Cooks, fans were still looking for a bigger wide receiver to join the room. Davis, who stands 6'2'' and weighs 210 pounds, would fit the build from a pure measurements perspective.

Why is Gabe Davis on the market?

--------------------------------

Davis signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on a three-year deal in 2024. Nick Underhill of [NewOrleans.football](https://x.com/nick_underhill/status/1931890285271040217) reported Davis' former team is still on the hook for $11.5 million in 2025. Davis still being paid by the Jaguars means his next team is likely to sign him to a veteran minimum contract.

His only season in Duval County was cut short when he tore his meniscus in the second half of a game against the Detroit Lions in Week 11. This injury led to Davis departing Jacksonville after the season with a failed physical designation and a post June 1 release. That explains the timeline.

New Orleans would have to feel comfortable with the medicals in order to make the investment in Davis. The Saints showed interest in Asante Samuel Jr., who recently had neck surgery. They clearly don't mind entertaining players with health questions, but moving past entertaining these players will be determined by the physical.

Before spending time in Duval County, Davis was up in Buffalo with the Bills for four seasons (2020-2023). There, he had 163 receptions for 2,730 yards and 27 touchdowns. In 2022, He and Josh Allen connected on a 98-yard TD pass, tying a Bills record that was first set in 2009 between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Terrell Owens.
