Manchester City’s charity, City in the Community (CITC), hosted an exclusive showcase event at the City Football Academy.
The event was organised to demonstrate the important work CITC is doing to empower healthier lives through football, as well as help to create advocates across Greater Manchester for the charity.
Key partners, funders, councilors and business leaders, were invited to the City Football Academy, where they were able to explore stations to find out more about CITC departments, programmes, its participants and staff.
Guests at the event started the day with a presentation from members of City in the Community’s leadership and management staff before being taken on a tour around the Joie Stadium pitch and City Football Academy facilities, to experience several practical and classroom sessions in action.
The showcase also included interactive stands from the charity’s Monitoring Evaluation and Learning, and Communications departments, showcasing the teams behind-the-scenes.
Commenting on the success of the event, Head of Operations, Lisa McKay, said: “It’s been a great opportunity to highlight all the amazing programmes we deliver across Manchester on a daily basis.
“It’s given us the chance to engage our current and future stake holders and really highlight the importance of the work were doing, raise awareness of CITC, raise awareness of the impact were having on participants of different programmes, different ages and really bring everyone together to celebrate everything that CITC does.
“Our showcase event has allowed us to put our strategy in the spotlight and how City in the Community is empowering healthier lives through football.
“We have three core pillars that our programmes fit into, healthy futures, healthy people and healthy communities, and we want to raise awareness of the true meaningful authentic impact that we are having on the participants across Manchester, each and every day.”
