Darwin Nunez open to Al-Hilal move

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is reportedly open to a high-profile transfer to Al‑Hilal, according to [Foot Mercato](https://x.com/Santi_J_FM/status/1932060059980439629?t=GUvOYMIHc49cRGPVQ5gCsg&s=19).

The Saudi Pro League outfit have made initial contact with Nunez’s representatives, although no offer has been tabled yet.

Nunez, who joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022, has endured an inconsistent spell in the Premier League, struggling to fully adapt to the demands of English football.

Although the 25-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance in a Liverpool shirt, his finishing and decision-making have come under scrutiny.

Nunez has fallen down the pecking order under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, starting just eight league matches and scoring five goals in the 2024/25 season.

Unsurprisingly, the Uruguayan has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with Atletico Madrid believed to be keen on snapping him up.

However, Los Colchoneros may now have to look elsewhere in their search for offensive reinforcement as Nunez warms up to the idea of moving to the Middle East.

Following their failed pursuit of Victor Osimhen, Al-Hilal are moving fast on to other targets as they look to get in some new faces in time for the upcoming Club World Cup.

A switch to Al-Hilal would offer Nunez a more lucrative contract as well as the opportunity to rediscover the devastating touch in front of goal that convinced Liverpool to break their transfer record for him.

Nunez’s potential departure would free up more funds for new signings as Liverpool close in on a mammoth deal to [sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen](https://footballtoday.com/2025/05/30/liverpool-table-e130-million-offer-for-florian-wirtz/).

The Reds are also reportedly eyeing a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt hitman Hugo Ekitike and could spend as much as €300 million this summer.
