Chelsea remain active in the transfer market as they assess potential new arrivals ahead of the Club World Cup.

The Blues wrapped up the season on a high, securing a 4th-place finish in the Premier League and lifting the UEFA Conference League trophy.

Despite significant spending in recent transfer windows, the club is expected to take a more measured approach in the upcoming summer window.

However, Chelsea are looking to bolster their goalkeeping department, with AC Milan’s Mike Maignan emerging as a key target.

Mike Maignan’s stellar performance against Germany

Maignan, now entering the final year of his contract with the Italian side, delivered a standout performance against Germany in the Nations League third-place playoff.

France came out on top with a 2-0 win over the hosts, despite registering a slightly lower expected goals (xG) figure of 2.35 compared to Germany’s 2.48, largely thanks to Maignan’s brilliance in goal.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper denied all three of Germany’s big chances and was named Player of the Match.
