The 23-year-old was a key figure for the Gunners again this term, but a second-place finish in the Premier League and semi-final exit from the Champions League saw them miss out on silverware once more.

Saka, who is in line to start for England against Senegal on Tuesday, has now given assurances that he believes Arsenal will come back from the summer break even better under manager Mikel Arteta.

“We will be stronger,” the winger said. “I have no doubts.”

Speaking about his own career trajectory, Saka was similarly optimistic.

“I think there’s a lot more [to come], percentage-wise, from my side,” he said. “Each year I’ve developed and improved and I think I’ve still got a bit of a way to go. With all the games I’m playing, it’s only going to make me better.”

Saka was injured in March and left out of Saturday’s 1-0 win over Andorra as a precaution so is yet to play under the new England manager Thomas Tuchel, but that will change at the City Ground on Tuesday.

“I love coming to the England camps and playing for England,” Saka said. “It’s been a bit of a frustrating year but I’m here now. I’m really excited to play, so hopefully I’m in the starting XI.

“After the last game of the season I had a little strain. Fair play to England, they managed me quite well during the week.
