Liverpool scored some sensational goals on their way to winning the Premier League this season.

The Reds comfortably blew the competition away to end the campaign as the best team in the land for the 20th time.

Liverpool scored 86 goals along the way, the most of any side in the Premier League by at least 14.

And with the dust finally settling on the 2024/25 season, we take a look back at the best five Liverpool strikes of the year.

5. Darwin Nunez vs Bournemouth

The season did not start off in the best way for Darwin Nunez, and although it arguably got worse as it went on, there were still several bright spots to enjoy.

His match-winning late double against Brentford was the obvious highlight, but Nunez also hit one of the goals of the season against Bournemouth back in September.

Having gone the first four games of the campaign without a goal, the Uruguayan broke his duck in style at Anfield.

Delightfully flicking the ball on with his head, Nunez went for the return from Mohamed Salah. Picking it up 30 yards out and wide on the left wing, the 25-year-old had a lot to do to beat Kepa Arrizabalaga. Amazingly, Nunez cut inside and picked out the top corner with his left boot.

4. Mohamed Salah vs Bournemouth

In a campaign in which he hit 34 goals there were plenty of memorable efforts from Salah. But arguably the most eye-catching was another against Bournemouth.

This one came in the Reds’ away game at the Vitality Stadium, in a match that was billed as a seriously tough one.

However, Liverpool, and Salah in particular, made light of the Cherries’ good form, though, with the Egyptian’s second of the day something special.

Facing up Milos Kerkez after a well-timed pass from Curtis Jones, Salah feinted before picking his spot and bending a beautiful effort in to the top corner to put Liverpool 2-0 up. Kepa didn’t even move.

3. Cody Gakpo vs Brighton

The only one on this list not to arrive in the Premier League, Cody Gakpo‘s Carabao Cup effort against Brighton in September is deserving of a mention.

Gakpo has been brilliant in the Carabao Cup ever since he joined Liverpool and that was no different in 24/25.

The Dutchman also made a habit of cutting in from the left-hand side to score exactly when his team needed him.

His effort against Leicester on Boxing Day was another good one, but the way he cut in and absolutely blasted the ball into the far corner at the Amex Stadium takes him to third place here. It was the definition of unstoppable.

2. Alexis Mac Allister vs Tottenham

In Liverpool’s ranking of the 24/25 goals of the season, they have Alexis Mac Allister and his brilliant, title-winning day strike against Tottenham Hotspur at number one.

And while we agree that it was a brilliant goal made all the better for the occasion it arrived in, we do not think it was best.

Nevertheless, it is worth recounting the way Mac Allister took matters into his own hands to ensure Spurs could not spoil the party at Anfield.

After Dominic Solanke scored to put the away side ahead it had looked as though Liverpool may have to wait to be crowned champions. But Mac Allister had other ideas, swinging his left boot to lash in a ridiculously good effort from the edge of the area. It was a goal fitting of the day and the result was never again in doubt.

1. Alexis Mac Allister vs Fulham

Mac Allister has scored some brilliant goals since arriving at Liverpool in 2023. But while the Tottenham one will likely remain his most memorable, we’d argue that his effort a couple of weeks earlier against Fulham was actually better.

For one thing, the Argentine picked the ball up much further out. He also then had to dribble beyond a Fulham player, before hitting the strike from a greater distance, too.

The effort was equally as clean, arrowing beyond Bernd Leno into the far corner of his goal.

Although Liverpool ultimately went on to lose at Craven Cottage, Mac Allister’s opening strike of the day should not be forgotten. In our opinion, it was the best of the Reds’ season.
