Clement Lenglet has become Barcelona’s second departure of the summer transfer window after Alex Valle’s exit last week.

The Frenchman has reached agreement with Barcelona to terminate his contract and he leaves as a free agent.

Lenglet is then expected to sign a three-year contract with Atletico Madrid after a successful loan spell with Diego Simeone’s side.

Lenglet’s departure means Barcelona will make a huge saving. The Frenchman had two years left on his existing deal and was due to earn 16 million euros annually.

Barcelona were obviously eager to get him off the wage bill, particularly after handing out renewals to Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

Atletico are set to jet off to the United States for the Club World Cup this week, and it’s hoped that Lenglet will be available for the competition.

More departures are expected over the coming weeks, with players such as Pablo Torre, Pau Victor and Andreas Christensen all potentially set to leave.
