Manchester United's hopes of signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer have been dealt a potential blow, with fresh competition for the player surfacing.
United have already made their mark in the summer market. The club has sealed the £62.5 million signing of Wolves forward Matheus Cunha and are in the process of negotiating a deal to bring Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo to the club.
Gyokeres is another player who has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer. Recent reports suggest that the club have initiated talks over a deal which would reunite the striker with his former manager Ruben Amorim.
The Sweden international has turned heads with his goal-scoring prowess this season, bagging 39 goals and providing eight assists in 33 league appearances.
United are eager to bolster their forward options this summer after a dismal campaign last year in front of goal.

The Manchester Evening News previously reported that Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap was their primary target in that area. However, he sealed a move to Chelsea last week, meaning that United now have to explore other options.
If United opt to pursue Gyokeres, they are likely to face competition from other clubs. Arsenal have been linked with the striker. And now FootMercato report that Gyokeres is a 'priority target' for Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal. The report states that the striker is being 'actively tracked' by the club.

After Napoli striker Victor Osimhen rejected a move to Al-Hilal, despite a £63 million deal being agreed with the Saudi Pro League outfit, the club is now on the hunt for an alternative world-class striker this summer.
Gyokeres has emerged as a potential target and Al-Hilal are keen to support new manager Simone Inzaghi in the summer transfer window following his move from Inter Milan.
United have also been linked with Osimhen, but according to ESPN, they do not see the Nigerian as the right fit for Ruben Amorim's forward line.
