Manchester United confirm release of 10 players including youngster signed in 2024, Tom Heaton update

Manchester United have released the retained list after the conclusion of the Premier League season, with Christian Eriksen headlining the departure.

Manchester United beat Aston Villa 2-0 at Old Trafford to end the Premier League campaign on a high.

Ruben Amorim is now planning for next season and already has one signing on board with United snapping up Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Big changes are expected at United this summer, and that starts with allowing some players to move on.

United’s retained list has now been confirmed, with 10 departing players officially submitted to the Premier League – even if one could stay.

Jonny Evans has already announced his retirement and fellow defender Victor Lindelof is also moving on.

Lindelof has said goodbye to United, with the Swede announcing his own exit in advance of the retained list.

Tom Heaton is another experienced name on the list, but his situation is a little different.

United have confirmed that Heaton is in talks over a deal to stay at Old Trafford, potentially offering a veteran presence in United’s goalkeeping ranks for a little while longer.

Hubert Graczyk among United talents to leave

United also announced six youngsters are leaving.

Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray, Tom Myles, James Nolan and Tom Wooster have been let go at the end of their deals.

United decided to release Kingdon, Murray and Nolan weeks ago, with new names added to the list.

Defender Kingdon arrived from Morecambe in 2020 and recently played on loan at National League side Rochdale.

Nolan has been on loan in Scotland with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and made 30 appearances this past season before United decided to release him.

Murray had also been with Rochdale in 2024, with the left back – signed from Huddersfield Town in 2017 – now moving on.

Goalkeeper Wooster joined United from Barnsley in 2020 and has spent time on loan with Ramsbottom, Macclesfield and Farsley Celtic.

Fellow goalkeeper Myles has come up through the United ranks and leaves after a loan spell with Leek Town.

A third goalkeeper is moving on and this one may come as a surprise.

United signed Hubert Graczyk from Arsenal last summer, with the Polish stopper following Chido Obi to Old Trafford.

Graczyk was on the United bench against Leicester City in February, but only made three appearances in Premier League 2.

The 22-year-old is on the move again with United deciding to end Graczyk’s time at Old Trafford less than a year since his arrival.
