Chelsea are allegedly waiting to discover whether they will succeed with their latest offer for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
The Blues are in a rush to complete certain transfer deals ahead of Tuesday's deadline, which comes before the start of the Club World Cup later this week.
On Monday, Chelsea announced that they had completed the acquisition of Strasbourg defender Mamadou Sarr, while midfielder Dario Essugo has also been signed from Sporting Lisbon.
Focus for the next 24 hours or so is on trying to finalise a deal for Maignan, with discussions also allegedly taking place for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens.
Reports in France have suggested that Maignan has already informed AC Milan that he has no intention of extending his contract at San Siro past 2026.

What is the latest on Maignan?
According to The Standard, Chelsea are waiting to learn whether Milan are prepared to accept their latest offer.
Chelsea are said to have improved the terms of the proposal from £10m to £15m in the hope of finalising a deal.
Milan allegedly remain firm over wanting in the region of £25m for the 29-year-old, even given his contract situation and without European football on their schedule for 2025-26.
Maignan is said to be adamant that he wishes to move to Stamford Bridge as soon as possible, particularly with Chelsea having earned qualification for the Champions League.

Will Chelsea go any higher?
Aside from potentially including add-ons to any proposal, it appears unlikely that Chelsea will go any higher for Maignan at this stage.
Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen and Mike Penders are already in line to travel to the United States for the Club World Cup.
Even if Milan say no at this stage, Chelsea could always return later in the summer, but that would not necessarily benefit Milan any more than it does by selling now.
Furthermore, all parties may wish to maintain a healthy working relationship. Several players have left Chelsea for Milan in recent years and the array of talent at Stamford Bridge means that future deals are a realistic possibility.
