Amid rumours linking Victor Osimhen to Chelsea, Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has suggested that the Nigerian will extend his stay at the Turkish club. Osimhen was a step away from joining the London giants last summer before the move broke down in the eleventh hour.
The 26-year-old went on to join Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli and has been a huge hit in Istanbul. He has registered 37 goals and eight assists from 41 games across competitions this season, helping his team win the league.
Interestingly, the player's contract with Napoli expires at the end of next season, but he is expected to leave the Serie A club permanently this year. Chelsea have rekindled their interest in Osimhen, but it now appears that they are about to miss out on him.
Speaking recently to Hurriyet, as cited by Tribal Football, Ozbek added that Galatasaray are in negotiations to keep Osimhen at the club.
"Victor Osimhen is staying at Galatasaray, his affection will be the most important factor. Negotiations are ongoing. We hope to give you good news next week," said Ozbek.
Recent reports have stated that the Nigerian has turned down a €75 million offer to move to Al-Hilal this summer. Meanwhile, Chelsea have roped in Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap to strengthen their attack earlier this month.
Are Chelsea eyeing Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers this summer?

Morgan Rogers
Chelsea have established contact with Morgan Rogers to discuss a possible move this summer, according to club insider Simon Phillips. The Blues are in the market for attacking reinforcements and have the Englishman on their radar.
Rogers enjoyed a tremendous campaign with Aston Villa, registering 14 goals and 15 assists from 54 games across competitions. The player is under contract with the Villans until 2030 and is expected to cost around £80 million.
The London giants, however, are unperturbed by the price tag and have already reached out to the player's agent to understand the requirements of a deal. Aston Villa have no desire to let the 22-year-old go, but could be forced to consider an offer to adhere to PSR norms.
The report adds that Unai Emery is an admirer of Nicolas Jackson, so Chelsea could be tempted to propose a swap deal. However, the Birmingham-based club are likely to prefer cash to address their finances. Rogers is open to a move away from Villa Park this summer.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
