Brian Robinson, a former third-round pick for the Washington Commanders, has been a dynasty enigma since entering the league. While never a league-winner, Robinson has useful RB2 or RB3 usage. When taking into account his current situation, past performance, and future outlook, let’s decide if Brian Robinson is a dynasty buy, sell, or hold depending on team construction.
Brian Robinson Dynasty Outlook – Washington Commanders Running Back
Brian Robinson Fantasy History
Robinson has been the RB29, RB21, and RB43 in the past three seasons. 2023 was his best season, with over 13 fantasy points per game in PPR leagues. Context here is important. In 2022, his rookie season, he was recovering from a gunshot wound ahead of the season’s start. 2023 was his healthiest season of his career, where he was a solid RB2 until Week 13 when he suffered a hamstring strain. His 2024 was also hampered by injury, where multiple lower-body injuries stacked up over the season. We still haven’t seen a fully healthy campaign from Robinson, and he has still been a solid RB2.
Brian Robinson Fantasy Outlook
Pass-catching running backs are often the target for dynasty managers, and Robinson is certainly not strong at this part of the position. With ancient Austin Ekeler in the fold, he’s stealing the short targets, and with the addition of Deebo Samuel, it’s unlikely Robinson returns to 35 or more catches anytime soon. The addition of Jacory Croskey-Merritt shouldn’t scare Brian Robinson dynasty managers in the short term, but if the late-round rookie surprises folks, there’s at least another mouth to feed. With minimal pass game usage and added competition (however small), he’s at best an RB2 and at worst an injury-riddled RB3.
Brian Robinson Dynasty Price
Fantasycalc, a computer-generated fantasy football trade calculator, has Brian Robinson right in line with the 2.07 in rookie drafts. That’s the Jack Bech and Kyle Williams range of drafts. So either a day three running back, a day two wide receiver, or Brian Robinson. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what to do with Brian Robinson.
What to do With Brian Robinson in Dynasty Leagues
Win Now
For win-now teams, Brian Robinson isn’t going to push the team over the edge to win it all. But he can offer bye week and injury fill-ins to help with running back depth. At this price range, buying Brian Robinson makes sense.
Middle of the Road Teams
Brian Robinson is the perfect player to keep average teams average. That’s not a good thing, and he should be sold for future picks, or once in-season, a team that thinks they can win now might have running back injuries that make Robinson a little more palatable. Selling Robinson can help a middle-of-the-road team get closer to the 1.01 rather than picking in the six or seven slot for the second year in a row.

Rebuilding Teams
At this point, we know what Brian Robinson is for dynasty. He’s not the kind of asset that rebuilding teams need to hold onto, and he’s just going to add points to teams that need to shed them to get higher quality picks. Offloading him for future draft capital and lottery ticket backs can help a rebuild more than Robinson can.
