Everton are interested in making a stunning move for Jack Grealish, who is set to depart Manchester City this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Although the 2024/25 season looked as though it would be yet another campaign in which Everton battled relegation, David Moyes did a brilliant job of steadying the club following his return to the Toffees in January. The Scot, who led Everton to a comfortable mid-table finish in the Premier League, can now look ahead to the upcoming campaign with his club in a secure position.
Not only will Everton be moving to a new stadium for the 2025/26 season, but it will be their first full term under the Friedkin Group’s ownership, who took the club over in December 2024. For the first time in a few years, there is a general feeling of optimism surrounding the Toffees.
It would appear that the club are keen on bolstering their squad this summer, with Everton having been linked with a number of potential signings. Recent reports are suggesting that the Toffees are targeting what would be a brilliant addition to the team.

The Daily Mail have reported that Everton are “monitoring the situation” of Jack Grealish at Manchester City. Grealish will be allowed to leave the club, the winger having struggled for much game time in recent months for City, particularly towards the end of the most recent season.

Were Grealish, who Moyes himself once described as "one of the best in the Premier League," to depart, it would most likely be on loan. Not only is the winger on a staggering weekly wage of £300,000 as per the Daily Mail, but as a player signed for £100 million in 2021, a permanent signing, combined with Grealish’s wage, could cause a headache for most teams in keeping with Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Even on loan, Grealish would certainly be a statement of intent from Everton’s new ownership. The England international could benefit from joining a club such as Everton, where he could individually influence a match on more occasions than allowed in Pep Guardiola’s system and perhaps rediscover his form from just a couple of seasons ago.
