For a second there, I almost forgot there were other players on the Pittsburgh Steelers. I'm pretty sure there still are?
For the better part of two months, it's been all Aaron Rodgers, all the time in Pittsburgh. As every single one of us is extremely aware of by now, that comes with the territory of doing business with Rodgers, but it's nice to finally be done with it now. Momentarily, at least.

But that leaves us without anything to panic over, which simply won't do. Fortunately ESPN is on the case – [they dropped a big list of reasons](https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45438227/nfl-minicamp-2025-chiefs-eagles-steelers-vikings) why every NFL team should panic heading into training camp (I think that's what it was about), and the Steelers' reason is ... surprisingly refreshing? But also equally terrifying? It's an impressive line to toe.
ESPN is just as unsure about T.J. Watt's contract negotiation with the Pittsburgh Steelers as you are
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Now that Aaron Rodgers is in the fold and expected to be at minicamp, all eyes turn to Watt. The Steelers' star pass rusher is in contract negotiations and hasn't been spotted at voluntary workouts. Though Watt hasn't publicly discussed his contract status, he posted a photo of him flashing a peace sign after a game on his Instagram story earlier this offseason. Watt attended minicamp and training camp but did only individual work as he held-in during his last contract negotiation. That record-setting deal eventually got done just before the season. This time, we'll get some indication of how negotiations are going when -- or if -- Watt reports to the practice facility for minicamp."
In a way, it's kind of nice to start freaking out about something that isn't quarterback related. In way more other ways, it's awful. It does kind of feel like this is making mountains out of molehills, to an extent – it's not like he's specifically threatened a hold out the way that, you know, another AFC North star pass-rusher has, and like ESPN mentions, he has technically been at the Steelers' offseason activities.
So, all in all, things with Watt will probably be fine. And if they're not, the Steelers already have the perfect QB in place to make sure no one notices.
