"Since you're gonna kill us, why don't you just show us who you are!" Amazon MGM has unveiled the first trailer for The Pickup, an action comedy from filmmaker Tim Story. It's set for a streaming debut directly starting in August later this summer. They're hyping this up as one of the big summer comedies for everyone to enjoy, but will it really catch on and become a hit when they're skipping theaters entirely? A routine cash pickup turns into a deadly pursuit when two mismatched armored truck drivers are ambushed by ruthless criminals with all of plans beyond the cash. The Pickup "brings together two generations of comedy for an explosive and hilarious partnership that showcases the chemistry between old-school experience and new-wave energy." Starring Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson, and Keke Palmer, with Eva Longoria, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Jack Kesy, Andrew Dice Clay, ex-NFL player Marshawn Lynch, and Joe "Roman Reigns" Anoa'i. It delivers "heart-pounding thrills, sharp comedy, and unexpected mishaps — everyone's in for a hilarious and wild ride." According to the PR material. Alas this one doesn't look that fun or funny.
