Arsenal have made a bold move in the summer transfer window by submitting a formal offer for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, according to reports from CaughtOffside. The 29-year-old German international is attracting interest from several top clubs as he nears the end of his contract with the Bundesliga giants.
The former Manchester City star is set to become a free agent on June 30 and has reportedly received four written proposals. Arsenal are among the leading contenders for his signature, alongside Bayern Munich who are keen to extend his contract, Fenerbahce, and Galatasaray.
While Turkish side Fenerbahce have offered the most lucrative financial package, Sane is understood to favour a move to Arsenal, provided the Premier League side increase their current wage offer. A key factor in his decision-making is the guarantee of UEFA Champions League football, something Arsenal can offer outright, while Fenerbahce still face qualifying rounds.

Sources claim that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has personally spoken with Sane, drawing on their shared history at Manchester City when Arteta was Pep Guardiola’s assistant. Arteta views the winger as a crucial addition to his squad as he looks to strengthen his attacking options following a third successive second-place finish in the Premier League.

Sane’s ability to play on either wing and his proven record in the English top flight make him a natural fit at the Emirates, where Arteta is eager to reduce the physical burden on Bukayo Saka, who struggled with a hamstring injury last season.
“Sane’s preference is Arsenal, but he wants them to offer more in wages,” a source told CaughtOffside. “If Arsenal up their offer, he will most likely become an Arsenal player this summer.”

Although Sane has reportedly spoken with Fenerbahce boss José Mourinho, the lure of Champions League football with Arsenal is said to be a decisive factor. Despite this, Arsenal’s current offer is believed to be the lowest of the four, prompting calls from Sane’s representatives for an improved proposal.
Bayern Munich remain in talks to extend Sane’s stay, with players like Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala backing a new deal for the winger. Meanwhile, Galatasaray have made a verbal offer worth around £9 million, further complicating the race for his signature.
Sane’s potential arrival would be part of a broader summer overhaul at Arsenal. The club are also pursuing Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi in a £51 million deal and remain locked in negotiations with RB Leipzig over a move for striker Benjamin Sesko.
