Thunder Star Passes Allen Iverson In Historic NBA Finals Stat

It feels like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder was born to play in the NBA Finals.

After just two games, Gilgeous-Alexander is doing things that only one other player has.

According to the NBA on ESPN, the Thunder star has now passed Allen Iverson for the most points through the first two career Finals games in league history.

Gilgeous-Alexander has put up 72 so far, and he is only getting started.

It’s been a long time since Gilgeous-Alexander has scored less than 30 points.

No matter who he is playing against in the playoffs, he has found ways to score, and his team has been steamrolling ahead because of that.

He has had a terrific season, a historic campaign that had him leading the league in points per game, earning MVP, and Western Conference Finals MVP.

The Indiana Pacers will continue to put up a fight, but Gilgeous-Alexander could be just a few wins away from being a champion and Finals MVP as well.

Gilgeous-Alexander is a true offensive threat and one of the most gifted scorers in the league.

He is more than that, too, of course, and is a talented playmaker with the ability to find his teammates and pass with deft expertise.

Like the rest of his squad, his defense is powerful too, and that makes a huge difference for the Thunder.

Gilgeous-Alexander has gotten off to a great start in the Finals, but he knows the job isn’t even remotely close to being done yet.

The series is tied 1-1, and the Thunder now have to head to Indiana and try to take a lead.

Gilgeous-Alexander will likely keep scoring well, but that does not guarantee victory against this Pacers team.
