Tokyo to Manchester delves into the lives of Yui Hasegawa, Ayaka Yamashita, Aoba Fujino, Risa Shimizu and Aemu Oyama, following their progress on and off the pitch in 2024/25.
In episode one, Yamashita, Fujino and Shimizu each discuss their reasons for joining the Club, and how they were welcomed in those first few weeks.
Having spent the past two seasons at West Ham United, Shimizu was more acclimatised to the cut and thrust of WSL football but, for Yamashita and Fujino, they were stepping into new territory.

They each talk about their adaptation to life at City, and how Hasegawa, embarking on her third full season at the Joie Stadium, often acted as translator as well as team-mate in those early months.
It wasn’t just Yui who helped them settle though, with the entire squad providing our new recruits with a warm welcome at the City Football Academy.
One thing they weren’t prepared for? The Manchester weather!
