We don’t know how drastic the New York Knicks will be this summer or how seriously they’ll consider breaking apart their roster.
They have already fired their head coach, so they are clearly intent on changes, but how many more do they have up their sleeves?
According to insider Steve Popper, per New York Basketball, the Knicks will have a few options if they keep their core team together.
If they don’t send away their biggest names, the Knicks might target free agents like Khris Middleton, Malik Beasley, Gary Trent, Matisse Thybulle, and Justin Minaya.
Would any of those players make a huge difference for New York?
If Knicks keep core 7 they "need help w defensive, athletic guards" – free agents worth look per @StevePopper

These names are only on the table if the Knicks retain their star players like Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, and, of course, Jalen Brunson.
There has been a lot of speculation about the Knicks possibly sending at least one of those players away, although Brunson is about as safe as possible.
If all of those players stay in New York, the front office is more limited, hence these five potential additions.
They wouldn’t bring a massive change to the Knicks, but they could chip in a lot, especially off the bench.
The Knicks are hard at work weighing all their options in multiple ways.
With Tom Thibodeau pushed out of the coaching job, the team is currently searching for a replacement.
They are also deciding which players should go, which should leave, and what the future looks like.
This is going to be a very busy summer for the Knicks and their fans, who are eager to see their team reach the NBA Finals after years of developing and becoming a true threat in the East.
