After joining initially on loan from Angers, Ait-Nouri has been a regular at left wing-back and is now one of the best players in the Premier League in that position.

Ait-Nouri completed his Manchester City medical over the weekend.

While there is a bit of frustration about the fee that Ait-Nouri is joining Manchester City for, fans are wishing the Algerian well for his next chapter.

At times, he really dazzled in a Wolves shirt, and has definitely improved immensely since his first season at the club.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

It’s been a pleasure to watch him play at times, with that technical ability and those fast feet making him stand out.

And it seems Ait-Nouri has genuinely really enjoyed his time at Molineux, with the player now sending a really heartfelt message to Wolves fans on social media.

He said: “Five years – it’s not easy to say goodbye. From the first day, you made me feel at home. You gave me the support and love that every footballer hopes to find, and I never took that for granted.

“I gave my all every time I wore the shirt – for the team, the club, and for you. There were tough moments, but they only made me realise how much this place meant to me.

“Thank you for everything. For the memories, the support, and for making these years so special.

“I’ll always carry Wolves with me 🐺❤️ Rayan.”

Ait-Nouri will be a huge loss for Wolves

This is a lovely message from Ait-Nouri and you can clearly tell his time at Wolves has left a real impression on him.

It is a huge blow for Wolves to be losing him.

Ait-Nouri could be guilty of overplaying at times, but there was no denying him as an attacking threat, which was underlined by the 11 goal contributions he got in the Premier League in 2024/25 – no defender had more.

It will be really interesting to see how he does at City now, and Wolves fans won’t begrudge him reaching his potential there.

After all, he conducted himself well as the transfer talks were going, and now his talent will likely be exposed to a wider audience, which he deserves.
