Boston may be staring at its next foundational piece in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Brady Martin, a center for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, has soared up draft boards following a breakout year in the Ontario Hockey League. After logging 72 points in 57 games — a sharp jump from 28 the season before — Martin has emerged as a compelling target for teams prioritizing skill, size, and snarl down the middle.
The Bruins appear to be among them. Martin told reporters he met with Boston during the NHL Draft Combine in Buffalo, one of several teams — including the Flyers, Predators, and Mammoth — that took him out for interviews and dinners.
Martin’s game mirrors the kind of hockey Boston has long embraced. He plays with edge, excels in all three zones, and combines polished puck movement with a heavy shot. That two-way profile fits seamlessly into the Bruins’ long-standing identity.
“If Martin does not go in the 4-6 range, the sense I get is that [he does not get past the Bruins](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6393677/2025/06/09/2025-nhl-mock-draft-round-1-wheeler/?source=athletic_pulsenewsletter&campaign=13632465&userId=1041996),” wrote Scott Wheeler of The Athletic. “They’re probably the start of where Roger McQueen gets consideration as well.”

Corey Pronman, also of The Athletic, described Martin’s style as an “intense, physical two-way game” and projected him as a potential top-two-line center, exactly the mold Boston needs.
If Martin is still on the board at No. 7, the Bruins may not blink.
