Victor Osimhen has already expressed his desire to one day play in the Premier League amid suggestions that a potential move to Manchester United put him off the idea of joining Al Hilal.
It has been widely reported that Osimhen was offered a lucrative contract to move to Al Hilal this summer ahead of their Club World Cup campaign. However on Sunday, it came to light that the Nigerian had rejected a move to the Saudi Pro League.
According to Tuttosport, the reasoning behind this decision was that Osimhen had become aware of the chances that a move to United or Arsenal could be possible this summer. With the hope of a transfer to the Premier League still on, it is thought that Osimhen passed up the opportunity to join Al Hilal.
Those who have been studying Osimhen's career for a while would be able to explain that this theory presented on Monday makes sense. During his time at Ligue 1 club Lille, the striker spoke fondly of his desire to play in the Premier League and admitted he had already sought advice from a former United player about the division.
"Of course, one day I’d like to play for a big club in England," Osimhen told The Independent. "I've spoken to Odion [Ighalo] about it.
"He gave me very good advice, he’s a legend and a big brother. My goal is to play at one of the biggest clubs in the world but now I’m very happy in Lille.

"My priority is to play a lot of games. Signing for a big club and being on the bench is not exciting for me."
With his career at a crossroads and his stay at Napoli seemingly impossible to continue, perhaps Osimhen will take this opportunity to push for his dream deal.
