After more than a decade in football broadcasting, Rio Ferdinand recently confirmed his departure from TNT Sports following the Champions League final in Munich.
The former Manchester United and England defender announced that he would be stepping away from the pundit/co-commentating chair to focus more on his family and personal ventures.

In a heartfelt social media statement, Ferdinand expressed his gratitude to TNT Sports, reflecting on his experiences covering elite-level football and hinting at a new chapter ahead.
That next step has now been revealed – and it’s taking him more than 6,000 miles from the UK.
Rio Ferdinand to work with EA Sports to feature in Bangkok festival
Ferdinand has partnered with EA SPORTS and is heading to Bangkok for the Visa Presents EA SPORTS FC Mobile Festival taking place on June 14 and 15.
The 46-year-old will be a central figure at the event, hosting a Q&A session on stage and taking part in a special FC Mobile Showmatch with top gamers.
As well as presenting the winner’s trophy and £22,000 prize.
The festival brings together the best FC Mobile competitors from across Asia and the Middle East, with the event also featuring global football icons and social media personalities.

Ferdinand’s involvement signals a fresh direction as he swaps real-world analysis for a digital and interactive football experience.
While this marks his first major appearance since stepping away from television, Ferdinand’s statement left the door open for occasional returns to punditry.
However, sources at TNT as per The Sun have suggested his departure was amicable and leaves room for future collaboration.
For now, Ferdinand is embracing new opportunities in the digital and commercial space.
Thus, maintaining his visibility in football, albeit in a different form, and expanding his brand on a global stage.
