As the 2025 NFL season inches closer to starting, teams are still making key acquisitions for their rosters.
Buzz began early in the NFL on Monday morning, and it's been announced that long-time Green Bay Packers' cornerback Jaire Alexander has been released from the team.
Alexander was drafted by the Packers with the No. 18 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and has been one of Green Bay's best cornerbacks since making his debut with the team.
In 78 career games, Alexander has compiled 287 total tackles, three forced fumbles, 12 interceptions, and one touchdown.
He's also been voted to two Pro Bowls and is a two-time Second-Team All-Pro in 2020 and 2022.
In recent years, Alexander has struggled to stay on the field, playing in just 14 total games in the last seasons. He sustained groin and knee injuries that resulted in the seven-year pro missing the Packers' final eight games of 2024.
Bryant McFadden believes the Philadelphia Eagles could be next landing spot for Jaire Alexander
It's been reported that Alexander is fully-healthy and will be ready to take on whatever team he joins moving forward.
CBS Sports analyst Bryant McFadden believes the Philadelphia Eagles could be the team that Jaire Alexander joins next season.
"What about the Philadelphia Eagles... You got to see what it would take to go get Jaire Alexander. Adding more experience along with more playmaking ability that Jaire has in his disposal, if I'm Howie [Roseman], I role the dice," McFadden said.
The Eagles are looking to make moves to their secondary after losing players like cornerbacks Darius Slay and Isaiah Rodgers along with safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson
Philadelphia has second-year studs Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, but they could be looking to add a veteran cornerback that can help lead their secondary to more success in the future.
