Newcastle United defender Dan Burn is at risk of losing his place in the England starting XI on Tuesday night.
After the Three Lions beat Andorra 1-0 on Saturday, Thomas Tuchel’s side face Senegal in a friendly at the City Ground.
Newcastle United centre-back Dan Burn will be eager to pick up his third England cap, having kept another clean sheet for his country on Saturday. In truth, it would have been a disaster if England had conceded to a side that is ranked 173rd in the world.
Next up is a more difficult test against Senegal, and it remains to be seen whether Burn will remain in the starting lineup.

Thomas Tuchel plans to change England starting XI
Ahead of Tuesday night’s game, Tuchel has spoken to the media and admitted that changes will be made to his starting XI.
“There will be some changes,” he said.
“I will not let you know how many of them but there will be changes. We want to see the players. We want to reward players who kept the level up.”
Tuchel added: “We will see some fresh legs and new faces. Tough opponent, very physical. High quality individually.”
Potential chance for Anthony Gordon after difficult Newcastle United period
With changes on the horizon, Burn could drop to the bench against Senegal. Chelsea duo Levi Colwill and Trevoh Chalobah are pushing for starts at centre-back, having been on the bench for the World Cup qualifier versus Andorra.

While Tuchel is a huge fan of Burn, he may use this opportunity to look at another centre-back option. The England manager’s statement puts Burn at risk, but it could also be good news for Anthony Gordon.
The Newcastle United number 10 was a substitute on Saturday, coming on in the 81st minute to replace Morgan Rogers.
Gordon will be eager for an opportunity, having endured a difficult end to the 2024/25 season.
A combination of suspension and injury has resulted in a frustrating couple of months for the 24-year-old, while there have even been suggestions that Gordon could leave Newcastle United this summer.
That will hopefully not happen, as Gordon is a key player on Tyneside.
He can also be a key player for England, and will want to prove that to Tuchel with the 2026 World Cup now just 12 months away.
