West Ham United are in a difficult financial position this summer, but are still on the hunt for younger talent to upgrade their squad.
The Hammers could lose several first-team players in a bid to fix their poor profit and sustainability (PSR) situation, and Mohammed Kudus could leave in a big-money deal.
West Ham need to replace a lot of outgoing and ageing players this summer, while also bringing in younger talents who can also slot straight into the first team.
Graham Potter has a big job on his hands, but this could be made a lot easier if West Ham can land one Liverpool star this summer.

Liverpool won the Premier League title with ease, but Harvey Elliott was a peripheral figure, and he could now leave in search of first-team football.
Speaking to talkSPORT (9 June), Pearce claimed that a move to West Ham would be the perfect step for Elliott to progress his career.

Elliott’s stats for Liverpool this season
“The player needs to play. When [Jurgen] Klopp left, he said: ‘I should have played Harvey Elliott a bit more’. That was one of the statements he made,” Pearce stated.
“He identified the talent of him and identified that he didn’t play him enough. He hasn’t played enough this year once again.
“I think that would be a good move for both parties.”

Elliott could be out of West Ham’s reach
If Elliott is to leave Liverpool this summer, it is likely to be on a permanent transfer rather than a loan deal, and he could command a big fee.
As it stands, West Ham’s PSR situation could rule them out of the running for any big transfers unless there are key departures for big fees.
Even if West Ham receive large fees for players such as Kudus or Lucas Paqueta, they may not be able to justify a huge outlay on one player, particularly given Elliott’s lack of minutes in recent seasons.
Elliott is a big talent who could excel at West Ham if given regular minutes, but a move this summer does appear unlikely.
