Report: Crystal Palace now eyeing 6 ft 4 'beast' who will fit 'perfectly' in Glasner's 3-4-2-1

Crystal Palace could look to strike a move for AC Milan star Strahinja Pavlovic in the coming months, according to reports - with the Eagles keen on the Serbian star to bolster their backline after winning the FA Cup last month.

Palace's first-ever major trophy has made them an extremely attractive option for various players, especially with European football on the horizon - and with players to play alongside, including Adam Wharton, Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta, it could see Pavlovic swap the bright lights of Milan for south London - though Palace won't be held to ransom for his price tag.

The Austrian boss believes that the Serbian star would be an ideal addition to his backline, ahead of what will be a strenuous campaign with Europa League football to contend with alongside the Premier League.

Palace have been tracking the star for months, having only moved from RB Salzburg in the summer for around £15million - and he's been a regular in Italy, making 24 appearances in the top-flight despite the Rossoneri finishing in eighth place in the league. Pavlovic has been labelled as 'a beast', and 'perfect in a back three' by X account @FTalentScout, which would suit Glasner's 3-4-2-1 formation extremely well.

Glasner wants extra competition in his back line, but Palace won't pay over the odds for the defender - and could start the bidding at £25million should they wish to make a move to land the former Monaco man.

Nixon further states that Tiago Djalo of Juventus is an alternative that may be available, whilst Burnley star Maxime Esteve is also an option - and if Marc Guehi leaves, that could prompt Palace to move for two of the trio to compete alongside Maxence Lacroix and Chris Richards at the heart of their defence.

Guehi has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United over the past year after his strong performances in the Premier League and for England - though a sale this summer is imperative due to his expiring contract next year, unless he signs a new deal.
