Chelsea are reported to have exploded into the race for £67m-rated Xavi Simons as Tottenham face another transfer battle with the Blues.
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons, who has impressed during his time in Germany.
The Dutch international has notched up 44 goal involvements in 76 appearances, scoring 21 goals and assisting 23 during his three seasons at RB Leipzig.
It has since emerged that the German outfit are open to parting ways with Simons this summer, with the 22-year-old valued at a hefty £67m, and Tottenham are believed to be among the clubs keen on securing his signature.

Chelsea make move for Tottenham target Xavi Simons
Fresh reports from TeamTalk now claim that Chelsea have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Xavi Simons.
The Blues are said to be seriously weighing up an approach for the RB Leipzig attacking midfielder, as the club looks to strengthen their ranks with a series of high-profile additions this summer.
It is understood that Chelsea has already made contact with Simons’ representatives, signalling their intent as they prepare to launch a formal offer for the Dutchman.

Chelsea are also believed to view Simons as a dynamic and inventive presence in midfield – someone who can add cutting edge and unpredictability in the final third, which has been lacking for large parts of the campaign.
Tottenham, meanwhile, still retain a strong interest in the 22-year-old, having first reached out to his camp in January. However, reports suggest Spurs have not yet taken the next step, which could allow Chelsea to steal a march in the coming weeks.
Spurs must act fast as Chelsea push for Simons transfer
The Blues have already pipped Tottenham to one of their targets this summer, having secured the signing of Delap from Ipswich Town, despite Spurs showing firm interest in the forward.
Tottenham will be eager to avoid a repeat situation, particularly with Simons being a player they have tracked closely for some time now.
However, the race is far from a two-horse one, with both Arsenal and Liverpool also monitoring developments around the 22-year-old.
Arsenal are yet to make a formal move, but Liverpool are actively in the market for a creative midfielder, and Simons is among the names on their shortlist.
The player himself is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, and with multiple top clubs circling, this is one to watch closely in the coming weeks.
