James Nolan message to fans
James Nolan spent the past season on loan at Scottish Championship club Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he made 33 appearances, and scored his first career goal.
The young right-back made his under-18s debut in 2021 and had captained Manchester United’s under-21 side. He has proven during his loan spell that he can adapt to senior football.
Nolan penned an emotional message to fans on Instagram, thanking everybody who had played a part at his ‘second home’.
He wrote: “My time at Manchester United has now come to an end. From joining at the age of 7 to now leaving at 19 it has been my second home.

“I just want to say a massive thank you to the coaches, players and everyone at the club for making my time unforgettable. I’ve made memories to last a life time. Once a Red always a Red.”
Jack Kingdon says goodbye
Centre-back Jack Kingdon signed for Manchester United from Morecambe in November 2020, and made his under-18s debut in April 2021.
The promising centre-back is a Scotland youth international, and he spent the second half of the season on loan at Rochdale.
Kingdon commented: “After nearly 5 years at this club, it is my time to move onto the next chapter in my career. The experiences this club has given me I will always be grateful for.
“The lads, staff, and fans have been outstanding with me whilst I’ve been here. Manchester United will always have a place in my heart, but it is time for the next chapter. Thank you, Reds.”
Their exits are a reminder that despite positive progress, there are only a limited amount of spots available at United. Leaving now could be a good move for both, pushing them to go out and find their way, rather than reverting back to the comforts of academy football.
