The Boston Celtics have a lot of big choices to make in the offseason.
They will likely be without Jayson Tatum next year, which will obviously hurt their chances and completely alter their plans.
This summer, they will make roster adjustments in order to storm into 2025-26.
According to Evan Sidery, the Celtics are looking to unload Kristaps Porzingis and his expiring contract.
“Boston is very open to moving [Kristaps] Porzingis as their top goal will be to dodge the second apron this offseason,” Sidery posted on X.
The prevailing thought among league executives is the Celtics will need to include draft capital in a trade offloading Kristaps Porzingis’ $30.7 million expiring contract.

This was Porzingis’ second season with the Celtics, and he averaged 19.5 points and 6.8 rebounds during that time.
Sadly, he was only able to participate in 42 games because of injuries, but he was still an important part of the team.
If the Celtics really do cut ties with Porzingis, they will need to replace him with a reliable big man.
They have Al Horford in the lineup, but he is older and probably won’t be able to lead the team for the entire season.
Plus, the Celtics are desperate to avoid the second apron because they are already strapped for cash.
They don’t have a lot of options, so they have to consider their choices very carefully.
The good news for Celtics fans is that they trust their front office.
This is the organization that brought them Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and others.
They are in a tough position right now, but there is every reason to believe they can make the correct choices, even with Tatum’s injury looming over everything.
Where will Porzingis go, and will he be the only Boston star to head to a different location?
