Mohammed Kudus could be the man to fix Newcastle’s issues at right-wing but not for his full asking price at West Ham
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Magpies “really do need” a player in that position.
Kudus got off to a flying start in his first season in England, scoring 14 and assisting six in all competitions in the 2023/24 season.
But following the departure of David Moyes, the Ghanaian struggled under his successors Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter.
The former Ajax winger’s output dropped, scoring just five while assisting four in a difficult second season in East London.

With the Cameroonian winger looking set for a move to Man United, the Magpies could now turn to signing the 24-year-old at the London Stadium.
Newcastle ‘unwilling’ to pay £75m release clause for Kudus
Football Insider revealed on 30 May that Kudus was uninterested in a move to the Saudi Pro League, bolstering Newcastle’s chances of signing the winger.
Speaking on the new Inside Track, the transfer correspondent revealed that whilst the Magpies require a right-winger, he did not think they would be willing to pay the £75million release clause for the Ghana international.
“Newcastle really do need to bring in a player to sort of bolster them in that position,” O’Rourke revealed to Football Insider.
“Because it’s been an ongoing issue, probably for the last three to four transfer windows.
“He’s not going to come cheap, Kudus, there’s no doubt about that.
“He has got a £75m pound release clause in there. I don’t think Newcastle will be willing to meet that.
“I’m sure they’ll be looking to negotiate a lower fee than that.”

Newcastle looking to bolster attacking options with Joao Pedro
Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that Newcastle are plotting a move to sign Brighton striker Joao Pedro this summer.
The Brazilian forward has also garnered interest from Chelsea, but with Callum Wilson departing on a free transfer, backup is required for Alexander Isak.
Pedro would also offer Eddie Howe the option of changing up his tactical set-up, given how comfortable the Brazilian is as a number 10.
Newcastle could also look to sign Noni Madueke after having a bid rejected last summer, with the England international potentially available for a move.
