Packers Dealt 2-Word Warning From Bears Rookie After Alexander Release

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden has bad things on his mind following the Green Bay Packers' release of All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander.

Selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Burden hopes to elevate the Bears offense and help Caleb Williams exact some revenge against their NFC counterpart.

Upon the news break of Alexander's release, Burden had a two-word message to the Packers.

Reacting to the official NFL Instagram account's announcement of Alexander's release, Burden replied: "Uh oh."

His response is the No. 1-most liked comment, garnering over 6,000 likes after just four hours, as fans seem to agree with Burden.

While the Packers may have questions at cornerback, the organization is also accustomed to playing without Alexander. The 28-year-old corner was plagued by injury, playing just 14 games the past two seasons.

However, the void left by him was felt. The Packers were 10-4 in those games with Alexander and 10-10 without him. The amount of receiver talent in the NFC North -- Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze -- is a daunting task for any team.

But Green Bay was proactive in its impasse with Alexander.

The Packers signed Nate Hobbs to a four-year, $48 million contract as he officially assumes a starting role in Alexander's absence.

Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine appear poised to battle for the other starting spot at outside cornerback, while 2024 second-round pick Javon Bullard is poised to take the starting nickel spot.
