Indianapolis Colts announce ownership transition to Jim Irsay’s daughters

INDIANAPOLIS (WNDU) - The next generation of Indianapolis Colts ownership has been made official after longtime owner Jim Irsay [passed away last month](https://www.wndu.com/2025/05/22/jim-irsay-longtime-owner-indianapolis-colts-has-died/#:~:text=According%20to%20the%20team%2C%20Irsay%20died%20in%20his%20sleep%20Wednesday%20afternoon.&text=%E2%80%9COur%20deepest%20sympathies%20go%20to,%E2%80%9D%20the%20Colts'%20statement%20continued.).

In accordance with their father’s wishes, the team announced on Monday that Irsay’s three daughters will assume co-ownership of the team, with each sharing leadership duties for the franchise.

Carlie-Irsay Gordon, the eldest daughter, will be the owner and CEO and serve as the team’s principal owner. [According to ESPN](https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45480405/colts-reveal-ownership-transition-jim-irsay-daughters), NFL bylaws require that teams designate a single principal owner even in scenarios where franchises are under family control.

Casey Foyt will be owner and executive vice president. Kalen Jackson, the youngest sister, will be owner and chief brand officer, as well as president of the Indianapolis Colts Foundation.

The Indianapolis Colts have been under sole family ownership since 1972, and this announcement confirms that will continue to be the case.

Irsay passed away on May 21 at 65 years old. He had served as principal owner of the Colts since his father, Robert Irsay, died in 1997.
