Real Betis are doing everything they can to sign Manchester United outcast Antony after his successful loan spell last season. Antony joined Betis on a loan deal last January after Ruben Amorim designated him as surplus to requirements at United.
Amorim succeeded Erik ten Hag in the middle of last season and immediately made several drastic changes at the club. Despite many of those changes failing to improve anything last season, the Red Devils remain confident in their new boss.
While Man United finished 16th in the Premier League last season, the 25-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Betis. Antony’s last appearance for Betis came in the UEFA Conference League final loss against Man United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Ten Hag signed Antony for £86m from Ajax, as one of the many high-spending failed stories during his United reign. The Dutchman preferred signing the players he had worked with before, ignoring the expectations that come with representing Man United.
To put it mildly, Antony failed to live up to his price tag and the daunting expectations at the club. Amorim has not changed his stance on the Brazilian, preferring to prioritise the attacking department during the current transfer window.
According to the Spanish publication AS, Betis are facing a daunting financial challenge to sign outcast Antony from United this summer. Nevertheless, the Spanish club are ready to sell players to reunite Antony with manager Manuel Pellegrini and their attacker, Isco.
Fichajes recently reported the final price tag of €50m (£42m) that United have put on Antony for a permanent departure. While Betis lack the budget, they are attempting a loan deal with the obligation to buy Antony, giving them a much-needed time to sort their finances.
