Everton will have some major turnover when they start the 2025/26 season at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium on Bramley Moore Dock with over a dozen players at the end of their current contracts or on expiring loans.
The Blues have acted to release a number of those players without new offers and also made permanent the loan move for Carlos Alcaraz. Earlier today the club issued a statement saying that two more players had been offered new contracts, while discussions continue with the representatives of two other players who have been at the club for some time now.
Club captain Seamus Coleman playing career has waned with age and injuries, but he has been offered a new deal, likely for a year at most. The 36-year-old featured just five times last season, but would dearly love to lead out the club in their new stadium in just a couple of months time. The new contract offer comes as no surprise with manager David Moyes having committed to keeping the Republic of Ireland fullback as a reward for having “carried this club”.
The second player to have been offered a new deal is midfield engine Idrissa Gana Gueye who recently picked up the Everton fans and players Player of the Year awards after another sterling season where he led the top five European leagues in successful tackles. The 35-year-old is said to have agreed to a one-year contract extension with the club option for a second.

Long-time Everton #9 Dominic Calvert-Lewin does look like he will be leaving the club as a free agent at the end of the month though. Toffees insider The Bobble reported earlier today that the two sides have failed to reach an agreement and thus the 28-year-old will be leaving the club after nine years with the Blues.
In Everton’s statement, they seemed to indicate that conversations were still ongoing however, so there might still be a change in status there.
The club also announced that negotiations were underway with Michael Keane as well, with the 32-year-old likely looking for a longer-term contract than the Toffees would be willing to give him. The center half is clearly fourth-choice under Moyes, and as one of the club’s highest earners, it is unlikely he will be given a new contract anywhere near his reported £80,000 weekly wages.
