Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson has not spoken much about their relationship, and not much has been discussed about her upbringing.
However, The Athletic’s Brendan Marks wrote a story published Monday that uncovered morsels around Hudson’s life before she was thrust into the spotlight because of her love life. Marks spoke to Dougie Freeman, Hudson’s former boss who is a celebrity hairstylist and owner of West End Salon & Spa in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
“I consider her a supernova,” says Freeman, who was Hudson’s boss for several years. “Our motto here at the salon is, ‘Let us help you use what you’ve got to get what you want’ ... and maybe Jordon Hudson is a good example of that.”
Freeman added that he still talks to his “most famous employee,” saying he contacted Hudson through social media direct messages to see how she was handling the spotlight.
“She seems to be doing fine,” Freeman said. “She said, ‘I understand you’re going to do an interview with the Washington Post.’ And I said, ‘I said a lot of nice things about you, I think you’ll be pleased with it.’ And I assume she was.”
Hudson’s influence around Belichick’s personal and professional affairs drew widespread scrutiny after a “CBS News Sunday Morning” interview in which Hudson interjected during a question and said how they met was off-limits. This led many people, including former players, to question whether Belichick was the right person to be North Carolina’s football coach. Those concerns were downplayed by the school’s chancellor, Lee Roberts.
Freeman said that Hudson, 24, dating Belichick, 73, would not be something that makes her uncomfortable because of where she lived.
“Growing up in (Provincetown), she saw how alternative relationships work. They can work,” Freeman said of Hudson. “I think that validated it for her.”
